I’ve heard so many different opinions about Becca’s highlighters so thought I would test one out. I decided to try the shade ‘Moonstone’. This highlighter is $38 and wasn’t available in Dubai so I had to order it online (so if that wasn’t pricey enough, shipping cost more!). I was hoping that I would fall in love with this highlighter since I spent so much money on it – and thank god I did! The packaging is so pretty and light, and the mirror is a decent size. The formula is butter-like in the sense that it is so smooth on the skin. One of the best things about this is that it gives me a glow rather than looking like I sprinkled glitter on my face. My favourite places to use this highlighter would be on my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, my cupids bow and on my brow bone (and sometimes in my inner corners). The pigmentation is one of the best for highlighters.
Sometimes when I accidentally get too much product on my brush I feel like it comes off as cakey on my skin, so trust me when I say a little goes a long way! I also feel like the product can get all over the packaging once I use it. Since I’m more on the olive/tan side, I usually go for gold toned highlighters (Opal and Champagne Pop are good examples of this by Becca) – and even though I love this highlighter I think that it’s a bit too light for my skin.
I think that Becca’s ‘Moonstone’ would work great on fairer skin tones and I would definitely recommend the gold toned highlighters I mentioned above to darker skin tones as well. A great dupe for this product is Colour Pop’s ‘Lunch Money’ which is $8.
